Compared to other engineering practices, software engineering is likely the least formally structured. "Vibe-coding" is new, but "vibe-engineering" has pretty much always been the case for software. However, that will likely have to change for fully automated agentic AI. It requires clear specs, acceptance criteria, strict cybersecurity measures, permission management, etc. Without them, AI-managed software easily breaks apart.
