Apple is rebooting Siri for iOS 27 with a standalone app and an "Ask Siri" button. Bloomberg recently revealed their plan: Apple is using Google's Gemini to power its core AI, while letting users install third-party chatbots through a new Extensions system. It is basically an AI App Store.
Google wins because its models power the actual consumer devices. Apple wins because it owns the distribution. If you buy a premium AI subscription on your phone, Apple automatically takes a thirty percent cut. Apple does not need to build the best AI; it just taxes whoever does.
For tech entrepreneurs, this creates a massive opportunity. The new Siri extensions mean you can build specialized AI agents that plug directly into iOS. You do not have to make users visit a separate website. You build a smart tool for the new Siri interface and sell it to billions.
